rune was born in a small swedish village to an overprotective single mother, and as a child he learned performative, slightly useless magic. eventually her smothering turned obsessive and toxic so rune fled to the sea. in tromsø he boarded the nearest vessel in exchange for work, which is how he ended up a career sailor. because of his demeanor, personality and general inability to speak norwegian, he developed a self-deprecating sort of humor around his crewmates. he writes to his mother occasionally, but never leaves a return address.
